Harryman II.\u00a0 Doug was an internationally recognized shoulder surgeon and researcher as well as a true gentleman and a man of faith.\u00a0 He passed away after a battle with cancer fifteen years ago, in the prime of his career.\u00a0 He wrote this note in a textbook which he donated to the WVU Orthopedic Library.\u00a0 I saved a copy of the inscription to remember his insight and wisdom.\u00a0 It is well worth sharing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Shoulders are important to God and man!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>It is where the government rests (Is 9:6), where security is found\u00a0 (Deut 33:12) and where burdens are lifted (Ps81:6a).\u00a0 Use these references to help treat and manage the physical needs of our patients shoulders but consider the spiritual value in all you do!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Doug Harryman\u00a0 March 1998<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I remain grateful to Doug for the orthopedic and life lessons he imparted to me.\u00a0 His legacy has blessed many, many patients.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I came across an inscription from a dear friend and mentor Dr. Douglas T.
