The hospital offers a full range of services, including General Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Imaging, Oncology and the Hazel Ruby McQuain Birth Center.<\/p>\n<p>Mon General Hospital has been named as one of \u201c100 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs for 2013\u201d by Becker\u2019s Hospital Review.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hospitals included on this list have orthopedic surgery departments, programs or dedicated centers that have earned considerable recognition,\u201d according to the December 2013 Becker\u2019s Hospital Review article.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMon General has a highly experienced team of orthopedic surgeons and nursing personnel and, quite frankly, we often take them for granted,\u201d said Mon Health System President and CEO Darryl Duncan. \u201cThese people are some of the very best in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis recognition puts Mon General on a list with some of the largest and most prestigious hospitals in the nation, including orthopedic centers in Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh,\u201d Duncan said.<\/p>\n<p>The Becker\u2019s article states that \u201cin light of a 20 percent increase in orthopedic procedures performed at the hospital over five years, Mon General opened a new orthopedic center in 2012. The hospital is home to one of the largest networks of orthopedic surgeons out of any hospital in West Virginia, and more than 3,600 orthopedic procedures are performed there each year. The hospital has been recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Becker\u2019s Hospital Review features business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
