Vitamin D: Simply Necessary for Athletes-and Everyone Else!

Adequate intake of vitamin D is crucial to many bodily functions.  Unfortunately poor dietary habits and lack of exposure to sunlight commonly results in vitamin D deficiency.  Studies have shown true benefits to performance for athletes with appropriate vitamin D supplementation.  In athletes or anyone else vitamin D deficiency can cause bone and muscle pain.  Medical conditions such as kidney disease and gastrointestinal malabsorption can also affect vitamin D levels.
